That is stunning and I love how you have photographed it! I sincerely hope none of the cedar resin got near it!
Bru's Mum got us a cone once and she put it in a blue napkin in her handbag. When she took it out it was covered in tiny royal blue flecks! It looked like a new variety of pine cone!

No the resin did not get on the lace.
The cone however did surprise me by shedding from its centre core, so I have masses of seeds to spread about the village now.
