Tree Identity
I will need a couple of arboriculturists to identify this tree for me. It was imposing, and must have been there for some considerable time given its size.

Lovely tree - I bet it has seen some sights and has some tales to tell.

That's fabulous! It's a common beech, Fagus sylvatica, one of my favourites, and at an educated estimate between 250-400 years old. But I am guessing at girth from the look of the photo.

Beautiful pictures by the way, especially of the Tay Bridge.

Thank you both I would own that Lord L took the photos of the full tree and the bridge, but I took the tree trunk photo.
